Ok so it’s a new year and another new start. Thinking about Sweet Beatrice for the coming year I’m really aiming for some big changes. I’ve just started my distance learning Interior Design course and will soon be combining that with a Garden Design Course just to cover all my interests. I have also enrolled on a seamstress course to further improve my sewing skills and teach me some good techniques.
All this learning is along side the biggest project I’ve had to date which is my own, brand new (not literally), totally mine, home! This is such an exciting project for me, not only do I get to design and decorate a home for myself and my partner but I get to have my own creative spaces within that home which will make my life so much easier. Initially this year may seem a bit slow in terms of setting up a business, but behind the scenes I will be creating a great base for Sweet Beatrice to truly become a reality.
So i’m not progressing quite as well as I should be with my list of things to do, but I have managed to do one of the bigger tasks – presenting my new logo!
It’s been a while in the making and i’m now pretty proud of it. I love the leaf as it’s taken from the very first olive leaf designs I used to draw as a signature on anything I’d make since I was about 12. The next step is to start creating some packaging ideas and ways to get this logo on to my products, oh and the very exciting business cards!!
It’s here again my favourite time of year, full of fresh motivation a clean slate and all the exciting possibilities 2014 could hold!! I’m a sucker for a good list and never is their a better time to go list crazy than New Year. So with renewed enthusiasm and imagination a Sweet Beatrice 2014 list has been born.
I’ve had an extra specially creative Christmas this year so I thought I would do a quick post to show it off before I start a fresh with the New Year plans. I have learnt that you have to start … Continue reading →
Very excited, I’ve just opened the package on the door stop and it is my new rubber stamp making kit! The reason I’m extra excited is because they said it wouldn’t arrive till mid September so I wasn’t expecting it. The purpose of this kit is to be able to design and make my own logo for Sweet Beatrice Designs, I wanted to use a rubber stamp as I think it will give a really handmade rustic style and it means I can use it to make my packaging and products even more unique.
Watch this space to see what I come up with! Thinking I might need to order a couple more rubber blocks, not sure how quickly I’ll master the carving!!
So I’ve been pretty busy in the last few months and thought it was about time I put it on display, so look out for some new projects and ideas over the next few weeks. I’m also designing a new logo as the next step to getting my company up and running, using some of my original ideas with a more handmade feel. Watch this space!
I have created my first blog, very exciting. Over the next couple of weeks I will really get to grips with the site and add as many of my projects as I can. A facebook page and twitter account will be soon to follow so watch this space. It all begins today!!
